Info:

This is NOT by any means a "serious" singleplayer map, it's more of a "what if"-type experiment.

The original Ruined Village is the only map in Drakan:OOTF in which Rynn is on her own for the entire time the player is in control of her; technically, Islands (Night) also falls into that category - but it doesn't really count, since it's not substantially different from Islands (Day), at least in terms of the level geometry.

Flying around the area with Arokh shows well just how small of a level this is... and also why Arokh isn't controllable in it in the first place, as there's no bounding geometry in place to prevent the players from flying outside of level boundaries, to say nothing of preventing the out-of-bounds areas from even being at all visible.

-------------------------------------

What has been changed from the original Ruined Village map:

1. Arokh has been moved to Rynn's starting location and made controllable.
2. Also he now has all the dragon breath weapons - because why not?
3. Removed the original outdoors "Visibility Togglers", since they had been set up for ground exploration only; before removing them, flying around resulted in parts of the level not loading (eg. the entire graveyard area).
4. Layer visibility has been completely overhauled.

-------------------------------------

Known problems & bugs:

1. Possible reduced framerates compared to stock Ruined Village, due to massive increases in layer visibility required for flying around the map; shouldn't be a problem on modern computers though.
2. It's very much possible to fly outside the level boundaries (and doing that may crash the game!) - so don't. It's a limitation of the original map, which wasn't designed for people to be flying around in, and it would take a lot of work to fix.
3. Having Arokh try to land on his own near the temple causes his pathfinding to break sometimes - he'll try to land INSIDE the temple and possibly get stuck, or otherwise enter a bugged state.
4. Some of the enemies are missing, due to the intro STOMP scenes having been deleted - for example, the one Wartok that would normally attack Rynn a couple of seconds after the player gains controls of her.
5. Collision issues and "mysterious forces" when flying inside Arokh's lair - these are a direct consequence of the way it's been made; not really fixable without completely redoing the whole lair.
6. Bodies of water sometimes have an opaque blue appearance when viewed from certain angles while Bump Mapping is enabled.
7. Very rarely, Arokh might refuse to land in the village at the start of the level, instead remaining in the air, or flying off into the distance to land somewhere else; however, not moving Rynn for a couple of seconds at the start (until after he's landed) should prevent that from happening.
